2003 Disaster Relief

Jackson, TN was one of the hardest-hit towns following a rash of tornados that ripped through the Midwest last spring. The HSF rolled into Jackson the next day with cleaning supplies, blankets and food from the HSF warehouse in Virginia, and directly from donors in Kentucky and Ohio.

Hurricane Isabel hit the Mid-Atlantic States last September leaving millions of people without power, and many without shelter. The HSF partnered with FEMA and The Salvation Army to transport food, water, ice, building supplies and hygiene products to people affected by the storm. The HSF also stationed trailers to house water and ice for the crews who were working around-the-clock to restore power.
